A Case of Preudomyxoma Peritonei with Mucinous Cystadenocarcinoma of the Ovary and the Appendix

Abstract
|
|
|
Pseudomyxoma peritonei is a clinical diagnosis of massive abdominal swelling by gelatinous material, produced usually usually from an ovarian or appendiceal primary.
It is a rare entity that is usually histologically benign but behave clinically in a malignant fashion with recurrent growth.
The best treatment has been tumor excision.
Variable reponses have been obtained with adjuvant chemothrapy, radiotherapy and immunotherapy.
A case of pseudomyxoma peritonei is reported with brief review of literature.
